	Boardwalk at Francis Beidler Forest

Congaree River Blue Trail – Starting near Columbia, this 50-mile water trail and greenway offers an urban adventure featuring prehistoric Native American sites, sandbars, high bluffs, and Congaree National Park, home of the largest continuous tract of old growth bottomland hardwood forest in the United States (designated 2008).

Francis Beidler Forest Four Holes Swamp — Wander along an elevated boardwalk that starts and ends at visitor center past ancient trees, black water swamp, clear pools, and wildlife. Kings Highway Community Park Trail — This almost 3-mile backcountry trail system runs through historic Stateburg and consists of an environmental education trail, a running/walking trail, and an equestrian/off highway vehicle trail. The trail system has been instrumental in providing trail experiences for underserved communities in the area (designated 2004).

Mullet Hall Equestrian Trail System — Located in Charleston, this 19-mile equestrian trail consists of an intricate system of loops that provide a variety of experiences unique to each loop. The loops include a range of natural settings, from meadows to swamps. The trail system takes users throughout the historic fields of the former Mullet Hall Plantation and hosts a variety of wildlife, including bald eagles, wild turkeys, and alligators (designated 2005).

North Augusta Greeneway — Named after former Mayor Thomas W. Greene, this rail-trail/greenway extends more than 6 miles throughout the neighborhoods, natural terrain, and riverfront of North Augusta. An interesting feature on the trail is a railroad car wheel-truck, which serves as a reminder of the area's heritage as the terminal point of the Charleston to Hamburg Railroad over 150 years ago. The trail serves as an important community connector, providing area residents with access to local parks. Trail users enjoy a number of recreational activities including biking, jogging, and inline skating (designated 2005).

Port Royal Sound Adventure Trail — Located within Port Royal Sound, this 100-mile network of water trails and greenways combines seven State Heritage Preserves with a National Historic Landmark District, National Wildlife Refuge, state park, and military base. In addition to its historical and natural resources, the trail allows for recreational activities such as biking, fishing, boating, hiking, and horseback riding. This trail is an innovative example of what is possible through a successful partnership between various agencies and local groups (designated 2002).
