Hike for Discovery presented by Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Have the Adventure of a Lifetime While Taking on a Life Changing Endeavor. By Lynn Bartkowicz It's not often you get to experience a natural wonder like The Grand Canyon or Yosemite National Park in a way which allows you to get up close and discover your site. But the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Hike For Discovery program gives you the chance to see these places from a unique and thrilling perspective, while also bringing hope and support to thousands of people battling blood cancer. Hike For Discovery is based on the Society's highly successful 16-year-old Team In Training® (TNT) program, the world's largest endurance sports training program, which has trained over 295,000 participants, and raised more than $600 million for blood cancer research and patient services, since it's inception in 1988. Like TNT, Hike participants receive professional training and coaching support, clinics on hiking and climbing techniques, hydration, nutrition, first aid and equipment. They also get to enjoy the fun and camaraderie of training and traveling with a group. Transportation, lodging and social events at the Grand Canyon during the weekend are all included. In return, they raise funds for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma research, as well as provide assistance to patients and their families. You can be a part of this exciting opportunity to make a difference in your life and the lives of blood cancer patients. Hike For Discovery's upcoming season includes the following events: GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, AZ - Travel Dates: May 17-20, 2007 YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, CA - Travel Dates: June 7-10, 2007 Don't miss out on this life-changing experience!
