Paved trail in the City of Scottsdale
Description
Art is for the soul. Cycling is for the body. Exercise your brain and your heart with an easy bike tour of some of Scottsdale’s award-winning public art. Take the Indian Bend Wash Path through a series of parks that line one of the most innovative flood control projects in the nation. Recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a Gold Level Bicycle Friendly Community, Scottsdale continues to expand the bikeway network with on-street bike lanes, paved paths, and unpaved trails. Many of the city’s 110 grade-separated crossings and pedestrian bridges were designed by artists, including the Soleri Bridge and Plaza created by visionary architect Paulo Soleri. Learn how the City of Scottsdale integrates public art into the transportation program including the Percent for Art contribution from the Capital Improvement Program, Cycle the Arts annual community bike ride, and self-guided bike tour of downtown public art. This flat, ten-mile ride will stimulate the mind, rejuvenate the body, and awaken the creative spirit.
