McKinney Falls State Park

Saturday - October 23
Time: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. • Cost: $25.00

Spend some time in this tranquil state park that is within walking distance for many of Austin's citizens. Park Rangers at McKinney Falls State Park will interpret this unique 744-acre park characterized by waterfalls, large old cypress trees, and the unusual geology of the area that was shaped by an ancient volcano.

Learn about the history of early Texas settlers and the McKinney's gristmill. This State Park is located in an urban area, yet retains a rustic setting for its visitors.

The park has three and one-half miles of paved trails that are accessible, although some parts of the trail are moderately strenuous. The park also offers four miles of nature trails over uneven terrain that lead to waterfalls and scenic Onion Creek.
