	The Veloway in the scenic Hill Country

THE BIKES AND WILDFLOWERS TOUR
Saturday - October 23
Time: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $40.00 (Includes bike & helmet, provided by the Bicycle Sport Shop)

Bike the Veloway, then experience the serenity of the Wildflower Center, one of AustinŐs major tourist attractions.

The first stop will be at the Veloway, a 24'-wide asphalt loop trail that winds three miles through the scenic Hill Country. This popular facility is restricted to bicycles and in-line skates. Bicycles and helmets will be provided for those who want to tour the Veloway. Learn how this special facility was planned, as well as, how it is managed and maintained.

	Texas bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush

The next stop will be at the Lady Bird Johnson National Wildflower Center. This popular facility showcases conservation techniques including landscape restoration using native plants and controlled burns. The architecture of the buildings demonstrates water conservation techniques, including rainwater harvesting. A guided tour of its trail system will showcase trail building techniques and materials that are designed for minimal impact on the natural environment.

The tour will cover approximately two miles of paved and natural surface trails, all relatively accessible.
