City of Aspen Trails System Manager - Job Description 

The City of Aspen is looking for a new manager for the Trails and Nordic Trails Programs. This person will develop and implement program goals and objectives, and works under the general supervision of the Open Space and Natural Resources Manager.  The Trails System Manager supervises the Trails and Nordic Trails Crew Supervisors and crew members.

Trails Program Management   Responsible for the successful management of the City of Aspen summer trail system, commuter trail system, and single track system.  Plans, assigns, supervises and evaluates the work of the trails crew personnel engaged in all aspects of the trail system and program. Develops the trails program budget and activities and responsible for trail maintenance equipment and fleet management. Develop and implement a trails management plan.   

Nordic Trails Program Management   Responsible for the successful management of Pitkin County’s Nordic Program. Plans, assigns, supervises and evaluates the work of the Nordic crew personnel engaged in all aspects of the Nordic system and program. Develop and implement a Nordic management plan, program budget, program activities and manages the Nordic trails maintenance fleet of vehicles and grooming equipment.   Responsible for the coordination of trails system maintenance and development with each of the local agencies including the City of Aspen, the Town of Snowmass Village, the Town of Basalt, Aspen Skiing Company and the Roaring Fork Transit Authority.

Project Management  Project manager for trail and Nordic trail construction projects, bridge construction projects, trail overlays, trail and bridge inspection projects, including project scoping, public process, contract management, project budgeting, and project partner coordination. 

Salary range is $57,366.40 - $79,144.00 annually.  For more information click on the link below.
