CORPORATE AWARD for 2004
Vanasse Hangen Brustlin
Inc., for demonstrating significant,
sustained and exemplary service to
trail design, planning and implementation. VHB's projects are diverse and far reaching in nature. They have partnered with the National Park Service and an international firm focusing on pedestrian safety to implement a "Safe Routes to School" program in Arlington, MA.
They are involved in the on-going planning, designing, and permitting of a multiple-mile connector trail in Seminole County, FL that will allow safe bicycle travel through an area that provides dramatic wetland views. As a corporation, the commitment of Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. to trails goes beyond their multiple projects, to include serving as a corporate member to both the East Coast Greenway Alliance and the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy since 2001.
The Corporate Award: is for "a business or corporation that has demonstrated significant, sustained, and exemplary service to trails planning, implementation, and/or recreation." The National Trails Awards are presented by American Trails to recognize the exemplary people across the landscape of America who are working to create a national system of trails to meet the recreation, health, and travel needs of all Americans.
