Ron Potter

Ron Potter has worked for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for close to 34 years. He started out when he was 18 and worked on trails. Ron has worked his way up to an upper level management position within the department. He has spent most of his time in the Trails and Waterways Division within the Department; and with the combination of 2 divisions, currently is the Recreation Systems Manager for the newly formed Parks and Trails division.

Ron has been a trails activist for his entire career. During the last legislative session, while the budgets were tight, Ron defended the user groups dedicated funding accounts for their trails. These accounts include boating, ATVs, snowmobiles, Off-Highway Motorcycles (OHMs), Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs), equestrians, and cross-country skiers. This was very important to the trails and the trails communities here in Minnesota.

Ron has approached all of his duties and responsibilities within the department with both fairness and integrity. He works many long hours every week to get his job done. He has also stepped up to the plate and recently begun work with the National Association of Off-Highway Vehicle Program Managers as a Co-Chair.
