At the end of the Symposium, volunteers will help take the exhibits apart and clean up.

Bag Stuffer: Package symposium materials for attendees.

Gophers: Volunteers will not be assigned to a particular area, but will step in as needed (i.e. if a volunteer role is vacant during a shift). They will assist with miscellaneous tasks that American Trails staff need help with.

Auctions: The role requires a detail oriented person and money handling. Volunteers will watch over auction items and help the auctioneer process paperwork and cash/credit card transactions.

Room Hosts: This role requires a detail oriented person. Volunteers will check for conference nametags ensuring that attendees signed up beforehand. After the session has started, volunteers will encourage people to take available open seats in the front of the room. Volunteers will distribute and collect multiple forms and must keep them organized. They will work with the moderator of the session to ensure that A/V needs are met and the room is equipped with the necessary materials. Volunteers will organize and straighten out room before and after sessions and if applicable, place speaker name cards on the front table.

A/V Helper: This role requires knowledge of computer systems, connections to projectors/speakers, and PowerPoint. Volunteers will provide assistance to moderators if any problems with A/V equipment arise. They will troubleshoot any problems and make any needed repairs to get the equipment up and running as quickly as possible.

Keynote Luncheons (and Boxed Lunch), Opening Reception, Awards Banquet: Volunteers will collect tickets (and keep track of them) and monitor who is entering and exiting the room. They will also help out American Trails staff with other items that need attending during these events.

Trails Rock Party: Volunteers will be off-site assisting with set-up, decorations, and collecting tickets. At the end of the party, volunteers will assist with clean-up and teardown of entertainment. There may be some lifting of boxed items from the auction held at the party.

PLEASE NOTE: Some positions only require volunteers for certain days and hours, if your hours of availability do not match these positions you will not be assigned to them. Most positions will last four or more hours.

Thank you!

We appreciate EACH AND EVERY volunteer and whatever time you can volunteer. We look forward to working with you!
