The Mon River National Recreation Trail runs along the Monongahela River. In this stretch, a bench for the railroad was cut out of the rock.This system of three trails is part of a growing system of rail-trails centered in Morgantown WV. The Mon River Trail runs along the east side of the Monongahela River from the PA/WV state line to Pricketts Fort State Park. The section of the Mon River trail in Morgantown is called the Caperton Trail. A branch trail along Decker's Creek meets the Mon River Trail in downtown Morgantown, where Decker's Creek runs into the Monongahela River.
