Perseverance National Recreation Trail, Juneau, AK. Photographer: Catherine Horiuchi. Photographer's Notes:" This photo was taken 07/23/07 a half mile above the Last > Chance Mine Museum (on the National Register of Historic Sites). I received a trail map at the Visitors' Center in the Juneau Convention Center while in town just for the day, along with some 9,000 other cruisers. What was so striking about this trail was its accessibility, within easy walking distance, and quality of trail bed, that is, even though there was heavy mist and some rain, the trail was not muddy or slippery, not too steep, and wide enough for even an out-of-towner to feel comfortable hiking in the limited visibility."
