One of the oldest rail-trails in western Pennsylvania and one of the few interstate trails, the Stavich Trail follows the Mahoning River from New Castle PA westward across the Pennsylvania-Ohio state line into Ohio. It is built on the right of way of a former interurban trolley line, and the active railroad often runs alongside.
