Symposium will recognize trail Leaders from across America
The National Trails Awards Program is one way American Trails recognizes the exemplary people who are working to create a national system of trails that embodies the Symposium theme, "Trails and the American Spirit: 2000 and Beyond!"
Nominations are encouraged for the following categories:
The nomination form on the back of this page must be used. (Please feel free to make copies for more than one nomination submittal.) One (1) additional supplemental page may be submitted. Entries must be typed. One nomination per category, per form. Please submit three (3) slides of project, individual, or team with the nomination form. Limit of three (3) exhibits (articles, documents, maps, etc.) demonstrating work done toward meeting the award criteria may be included.
Except for the Lifetime Service Award, all efforts eligible for recognition must have occurred between July 1, 1998 and June 15, 2000. Some awards are intended to recognize an individual, while others may recognize an individual, team, or group. Trails projects and efforts to be considered for award will include work done on trails or trailheads and related facilities, improvements in education and information about trails, and service contributing to the betterment of trail opportunities.
The American Trails Board and the 2000 National Trails Symposium Awards Committee shall have sole responsibility for determination of award recipients. The awards will be presented at the 15th National Trails Symposium the evening of Friday, September 22, 2000 at the Awards Banquet. Plan to attend and support the efforts of these worthy recipients!
